Meet My|Phone Model Q19i Duo - Review Specs Features and Price of My Phone Q19i

I was roaming around the mall yesterday for my Saturday off. I decided to check for the latest Samsung Galaxy tablet PC. I am planning to get one as Christmas present for my self :) Oh yeah i prefer one over the ipad as I don't want to get locked with Apple products.

Then I stumbled upon the mobile phones displayed on one stall. The price of one item caught my attention so i decided to check the features. It's a My phone Q19i Duo with price of 1950 pesos or about $US 43.00 and i believe it is the cheapest among myphone phones.

Here are the features of this unit:
- the ever famous Myphone dual simcard capability
- qwerty keypad
- a 2 Megapixel rear camera
- an FM and mp3 player
- built in Facebook, Twitter and Friendster support (they are actually in the main menu)
- some games and apps
- dimension of 111 x 61 x 13 millimeters and about 76 grams


I decided to give it a try as I badly need a qwerty phone. Besides the price is relatively cheap. Also, I can make use of my spare Simcard - perfect for greeting my contacts from other network provider this holiday season.
Ok my quest for the day, to look for the Samsung Galaxy, was superceded by a bit of excitement of having a qwerty phone again - Myphone Q19i Duo.

Well, I was bit skeptical at first as I am not quite fulfilled with my previous Myphone QTV22 Duo. I had its charger slot broken in span of few months. 

So here's my review for this model:

• The dual simcard functionality works perfectly- as always. I had my other simcard active now. yey! The keypad also presents 2 keys for each simcard so you don't have to dig on the menu. I give this 4.5 out 5 -nearly perfect
• The qwerty keypad also boasts the same. Pretty good keypads considering the price. A 4 out of 5

• The 2-Megapixel camera? Oh wait is it really a 2-megapixel? Maybe i need to check again the specs on the box. But I think it's not even a 1 Megapixel in resolution. Also, i can't find a way to zoom in or zoom out the focus of a shot though there's an option in the screen to do so. Am I just missing something or that option simply doesn't work? 1 out 5

• The Facebook, Twiter and Friendster shortcuts really helps for quick access as they are on the main menu, but the WIFI incapability of this unit won't make use of them for me. Not bad if you are using GPRS. 3 out of 5

• Mp3 and FM player - the lack of good loudspeaker makes this unit a bit unsatisfying. Just plug in your earphone if you are into music. 3 out of 5 also.

    Yes. Most budget phones these days come with built in bluetooth. Myphone should have also considered fitting one in this q19i :)

    yeah right! it should have bluetooth... and i can't play music in the music player or audio player though my mem card has already music it's still empty when i tried to open the player... Is that really the feature of this phone?

    to be able to play the music on the card, you need to sync the card first with a media program in your computer.. like media player or something.. there you can add more music...

    you need to do this before you can play music in myphone..

    My Q19i is just 2 days old and after our getting to know stage, I think I am satisfied with its functions and features. I did not expect too much like a high res camera because I knew from the start na VGA lang talaga sya. I have changed my wallpaper, my ringtones using my favorite songs that I downloaded from my laptop. So I am very satisfied with it. plus its really cool to have a dual sim phone. it's less than 2k so what do we expect but for me, it exceeded my expectation. not to mention that I have tried using facebook and gmail via gprs.

    Has anyone had trouble getting pictures off of their Q19i MyPhone? I've connected it to my computer and it will charge, how it does not recognize it as a storage device where I can retrieve my pictures.

    1. To turn it on press the red key,next to the text of envelope icon on the far right of the keypad/board.

    2. It uses the USB port at the bottom as its headset jack.

    3. The USB port is only for charging and its propriety (own designed) headset and not for file transfer/data port. So connection with a PC is not possible.

    4. As another commentator said it uses the AVI format. Thanks for that :-)

    How can I put a keypad lock password? It requires an output password which is usually 1234, but it doesn't work. What should I put as output password?

      mpplay muh lng ang music sa audio player kung my folder ka sa mem. card na "My Music" sa folder na ito ilagay ang mga music...at tsaka dpat hindi nka-seperate ang mga music sa mem. card...sa "My Music" folder lang...at dapat wala ng ibang folder ang nkalagay sa "My Music" folder nah ibang kanta ksae hindi nah un mrread ng audio player...tnx..sana nkatulong ako...ahahha

    phone do not notify if it is fullcharge already. basta na lang tumitigil paggalaw ng battery icon...wala man lang "full charge" na word

    for your information, the phone came with some sort of a manual (mukhang leaflet nga lang) so most instructions on basic operation are there. you just have to play around with the phone to see the other features.

    I got this phone last Saturday and after toying around with it, here are my comments:

    > if you're after the basic function of call and text, di ka na talo dito. the dual sim feature works perfectly fine

    > qwerty keypad is really smooth and very responsive. walang sabit :)

    >I tried using a micro SD and nababasa naman nya. Dun sa may concern about not being able to play music files, don't access the files from the "my multimedia" menu...dun kayo pumunta sa "my file manager" (nasa lower left side ng screen)then select "memory card", click "open" and then just look for the folder kung san naka-save yung mp3 files mo. select the file and click "play". the only problem is you can only play the songs one by one (wala din syang play controls) so you would have to click on the songs every now and then. medyo hassle, pero ok naman ang audio.

    > the earphones are not that good, so kung mejo particular ka sa sound (kung gusto mo mejo magandang drum and bass o di kaya tugz, tugz, tugz music) I suggest na bili ka nalng ng headset adapter (if any) then use a better quality headset/earphone

    > camera is just VGA so nothing much to expect as far as resolution is concerned. Ok naman kasi you can apply the different image effects (masabi lang na may effects ka)

    > another downside is you cannot save sent SMS messages automatically, you have to choose the option "save and send" if you want to monitor your sent messages. and even if you save your message, hindi naman record yung date/time of the message (so wala kang palusot sa gf/bf mo kapag nagtataka sya kung bakit di ka nagttxt sa kanila)

    > battery really lasts. it can go for 2 days straight w/o charging. and dun sa nagtatanong kung pano malalamn kung lowbatt na, just look at the battery icon on the upper right side. kapag pula na yung icon, it's time to charge it.

    Overall, I would say the phone does justice for its price. You get what you pay for. I hope this review helps. :)

    My pleasure...I'm still trying to discover other things about this phone model. I'd like to add that the phone will not be recognized by your PC if you try to hook it up. The only way to load images/audio file is to remove the SD card and then hook the SD card to a card reader connected to the PC. About the video capabilities, I haven't confirmed if it plays videos in AVI format. I'll try this out and will let you guys know what happens.

    i am quite satisfied as i use this phone mainly for the purpose of dual sim card and qwerty keypads. The rest are i ignore, camera, music, gprs.
    If you are more into thse mentioned, i advise you get another mainstream brand.

    I just found out how hard it is to get replacement earphones for this model. I broke the origonal earphones and I have tried almost every shop in our area but can't seem to find a compatible USB earphone for this. If anyone knows where I could get one, pls post here. Btw, the volume controls of the phone are the + and - keys.

    ^you can read the 3rd post before you about how to use downloaded music files.

    -on the WiFi thingy, this phone has no WiFi! its a budget phone so don't expect an expensive feature =)

    -it has NO USB connector. The microUSB like port you see is a charger slot and can't be used to connect the phone to any device like computer (except for the charger of course)

    hope these points clear things up for you

    ^This phone doesn't support Java files, sadly. There's no other way that you can put Java games for this phone.

    i bought Q19i myphone in moa for P1,700 which is P1,888 sumthing in other store.it's cheap though it's not that user friendly but bcoz my only concern is the fm radio well it's worth the price.but unfortunately, i can't easily download music coz it doesn't have blutut and usb (my gosh)! the only hope is the memory card!

    hi guys is there any feedback to this type of situation. i activated the phone locked and then reseet it to factory settings after it rebooted i can't open the phone anymore i tried the password but to no avail it does'nt work. can somebody help me on my situation......

    Sa mga nagsasabe na ayaw mag play ng music nila, dapat yung SONGS niyo, dun niyo ilagay sa MY MUSIC na folder. Tapos ayusin niyo yung settings ng audio player. Dapat songs from MEMORY CARD ang nakalay.

    sa Internet connection naman, di ko alam kung bakit pero ayaw niyang gumana kahit may GPRS. sayang nga free mobile internet ko eh.

    ask ko lang po bakit nga ba pag nilagay na ung micro sd card dun sa phione e mabilis ma lowbat? hindi lang po sa unit na Ql9i, halos lahat po ng myphone na unit ay ganun. check nyo po ung phone nyo tapos obserbahan niyo. kapag nklagay ung sd card e mabilis malowbat pero subukan niyo alisin ung sd card, halos abutin ng 1 week bago malowbat. tiatawagan ko po ng pansin ang manufacturer ng myphone units bakit po ganito ung unit ninyo?

    Im really kind of disappointed because I thought its worth the price... Ok na sana kaso dun sa USB port po ako na badtrip.. How would you say its a mp3 player if you cant download music from your computer... where would you transfer it? Of course many want the features right? thats why we're choosing.. ang mali ko lamang ehh hindi ko naitanong to sa saleslady.. tsk tsk....

    ok here is some advice about the mp3 player..if u cant find or play ur saved musics even its already in the memcard,u should transfer it to my music folder. u can find the folder when u open the memcard its already there just move the files into it.u can find the volume on the letter I and O.

    not all q19i is perfect hehe..so ask for assistance if u having some trouble. its under the sony ericsson's warranty. dont expect too much on this phone because its just a basic phone.

    the battery power last for 3 to 4 days it depends on how u use it..if u are quite a texter it will last for the said day. u cant connect it tru usb cable it will just charge so if u want to save some files better eject the memcard and use a card reader. if ur using sun sim just go to internet service and click the homepage and wait ..the most advisable is to read the manual.

    i also got the phone 2 days ago,well its seems can handle some pounding aka unexpected drops. i feel its solid build.. although its very light to handle.. not bad for a less than 2,000 phone. although bluetooth is a welcome feature. I'm still happy that I retired my 5130XM.

    I'm using Sun & Smart.. and i have working GPRS on both networks, just use the SIM MENU's to configure the phone.. 1st get the right settings then active those..

    FYI: FREE FB on suncell, albeit its text based(you can't see multimedia on the page) but you can use messages, status updates, likes, and others stuff..

    how to download games and mp3 musics?
    just buy a card reader which is compatible with micro sd and please make sure that its writable.(available at any cd-r king stores nation wide)because usb cable is not compatible with this phone.
    i think you can download games here, but you can't play it. because its not supported by java.
    mp3 files? just save it on your micro sd. then go to audio player>>settings>> on pre. play list, select memory card.
    then go mack then press refresh list.
    then here you go, your file is now on audio. you can play it all at once.

    para matanggal memory card, just slide it. then here you go!

    go to audio player/radio then press letter I to decrease volume and O to increase.

    myphone q19i is slightly worth the price...it's easy to use, i can play music but i cant use my FB...i suggest that u buy a memcard,myBe a 2GB...,insert into 3G fons with musics already, like the samsung units...copy the music u want to listen, then paste to y music folder... unplugged memcard then u go to MY FILE MANAGER,choose memcard,choose my music then its appears there the music u copied from other CP...dats wat i did and i also used it as user profile...

    ung myphone qw29 duo.. may error na lumalabas ngaun. ung sa messaging menu. if u try to open it, then comes the prompt message "NOT AVAILABLE" OR "LOADING" then u cant open it neither use it. waaahh!!! asar tlaga! palpak.. i tried to repair it, coz probably something wrong in its software. nagbabasakali aq baka maayos pa.. then, bulaga! wala parin.. huhuhu... napabayad pa ako.. asar! i exhort the myphone should review their products, its use either if they wont find some solution to resolve it..

    para sa akin, kasi mahilig ako magtext, like mga GM.. the best kasi walalng limit yung number ng recipients niya. lalao na sa Group Messaging niya. Kasi dati sa samsung ko na phone, limited hanggang 10 lang pwede ma send kahit nasa same group.

    at isa pa aya ang battery life, matagal talaga since hindi naman ako mahilig magpa music. pero compare sa samsung ko dati, na umaabot lang ng 2days maximum. sa phone na to umaabot ng 3days.

    there's no blutooth and you can't connect the usb chord to the computer. The only way to save songs and some files is by getting a memory card and saving the files there through a card reader.

    GPRS settings- you just have to activate. You can read the options sa sim card menu.

    Nakakainis lang kasi sometimes, this phone can't load pages on the internet properly , aside from that, when you are looking for photos, the loading is so slow -_-

    i love this phone and most of it's features except for the camera and the video player. the comment above is right. you won't be able to zoom the image and the image has a really low quality. and for the video player, well it sucked. i had played a video many times and it's like a slide show of pictures. try it for yourself. use a cherry mobile or any filipino phone that records avi format and transfer it to this phone and then play it. you'll see what i mean.
    aside from that i'm good with this phone. it's very useful actually. and the speaker is really loud which makes it really good for playing music outloud. very very awesome phone :)

    anyone know how to:

    1) turn off keypad sounds (such as the beep when clicking through the menu or when you are about to delete something)

    2) lower the volume of alerts (such as the "ding" for new texts)?

      1) turn off keypad sounds - press the up key to go to user profiles. go to extra tone, and turn off the warning, error or camp on.
      2)lower the volume of alerts - still on the user profiles, you may lower the volume on the ring tone and key tone
